Garden Visit - Nicole Bühr's - 5th March, 2011

Thank you Nicole for keeping your garden visit open so soon after the Earthquake. For those who made it out it was a lovely afternoon escape from mud and dust of town.

Nicole's garden includes a huge variety of vegetables, herbs and flowers, an established orchard with the most delicious prunes and a bunch of hens who have free run of the orchard and surrounds. Nicole also grows chickpeas & lentils (see pics) for those wishing to become locavores - you can still have your hummus and eat it too! After a tour of Nicole's garden we sat down to a delicious potluck lunch. Thanks so much Nicole for offering your home and garden as a sanctury for an afternoon to many who just needed a break out of town.
